Collection of real Christmas trees is provided to City of Peoria residents as part of normal trash collection service with no request required for special pickup. Residents can place Christmas trees next to the trash cart on their regular collection day by 6:00 a.m. All lights and ornaments need to be removed as a safety precaution and residents are encouraged to bag their tree. If the tree is oversized, cut the tree in half. Christmas trees are not considered landscape waste so it will go into the landfill. Environmentally-conscious residents need to make other arrangements to dispose of or recycle their trees. For more information, call Peoria Disposal Company (PDC) at (309) 674-5176, extension 1.
