No Trash, Recycling, or Yard Waste Pick Up on Thanksgiving Day

PDC will not pick up trash, recycling, or yard waste on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2019. This will not affect Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday routes. For the rest of the week, please follow this schedule: If you are Thursday, set carts out on Friday. If you are Friday, set carts out on Saturday. Carts, cans, and all materials may be set out the day before pickup as early as 3:00 p.m. but must be out by 6:00 a.m. on pickup day to avoid missing a collection. All trash should be bagged, even materials in the trash cart. This helps reduce litter throughout our community. Did you know paper makes up an estimated 25% of our waste at the landfill nationwide? According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, it’s 67 million tons a year. Here in Peoria, we can recycle paper and help keep it out of the landfill. Last month we focused on different types of paper and cardboard that can be recycled in Yes, Peoria Picks Up! Paper. America Recycles Day

This Friday, November 15, is America Recycles Day. A national initiative by Keep America Beautiful, dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling. Recycling for city of Peoria Residents The city has a contract with Peoria Disposal Company for every other week recycling.  The service is provided to every city of Peoria residence, from single-family homes to quadplex units, at no additional charge.  The service is included in your property tax bill as part of the city of Peoria garbage fee and allows for up to two 95-gallon recycling carts per home.
