Winter Weather Tips for Trash/Recycling Carts

Winter weather may be on your mind this week as Peoria is set to see snow again on Thursday and Friday and into Saturday, January 16. Should your regularly scheduled trash and recycling fall on one of those snow days, consider the following tips before setting your carts out for collection.    Place carts on a solid surface for pickup, such as the end of your driveway. Do not place carts behind or on top of snow piles or in the street. Shovel an area at the curb or alley to neatly place your carts.   Try to be patient. Storm Debris Collection to Begin Jan. 8 – Track Your Route via New Digital Map

Peoria Public Works to cover cleanup efforts; provide unique services following winter weather  Storm debris collection will begin on Friday, January 8, continue through the weekend and into next week following numerous reports of downed trees, limbs/branches throughout the city of Peoria. The damages are a result of the severe winter weather that occurred the last week of December. As part of the post storm recovery efforts, Public Works’ full focus will shift to collecting debris across the city starting this week.  Watch for Updates An interactive map of the preestablished routes with daily status updates is viewable here: Storm Debris Cleanup Tracker. Residents can track the status of their route to determine if the collection is incomplete, in progress or complete.
