No Trash, Recycling, or Yard Waste Pick Up on Thanksgiving Day

The City’s trash hauler, Peoria Disposal Company (PDC), will not pick up recycling, yard waste, or trash on Thursday, November 25. The holiday will delay service by one day. Thursday, November 25 collection will resume Friday, November 26, and Friday November 26 collection will resume Saturday, November 27. Services will return to normal on Monday, November 29. When and Where? To avoid missing a collection, set your carts, bulky waste, and yard waste out no earlier than 3 p.m. the day before pick-up and no later than 6 a.m. on your scheduled day. 2021 Yard Waste Pick-Up Ends Next Month

There is one more week of yard waste collection for 2021. The week of December 6-10, 2021 will be the final chance to have yard waste picked up until March 2022. Yard waste items include grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs, and brush. Yard waste must be set out for collection in one of the following options: Use plastic or metal garbage cans that are between 40 and 45 gallons in size, with two handles, and a tight-fitting lid. Use wheeled carts that are either 65 or 95-gallon size. Residents are advised not to use the City of Peoria trash cans for yard waste. This America Recycles Day, Peoria Picks Up wants to remind you just how easy it is to recycle in the City of Peoria. Getting started is as simple as calling the City’s recycler, Peoria Disposal Company (PDC) at (309) 674-5176, option 1. Or click the sign up for a recycling cart button on peoriapicksup.com.  Once you receive your 95 gallon single stream (no sorting needed) recycling cart with wheels and an orange lid, you’ll be ready to go. Just review our accepted materials list to ensure PDC will accept everything you put inside your recycling cart.
