No Trash or Recycling Pick Up on Christmas Day
This will not affect Monday or Tuesday routes. For the rest of the week, please follow this schedule:
- If your collection day is Wednesday, set carts out on Thursday.
- If your collection day is Thursday, set carts out on Friday.
- If your collection day is Friday, set carts out on Saturday.
Carts, cans, and all materials may be set out the day before pickup as early as 3:00 p.m. but must be out by 6:00 a.m. on pickup day to avoid missing a collection. All trash should be bagged, even materials in the trash cart. This helps reduce litter throughout our community. Watch the video below to learn more about setting out your carts.
After the holiday, residents can place Christmas trees next to the trash cart on their regular pickup day as part of your regular collection service. Be sure all lights, decorations, and ornaments are removed.
PDC encourages residents to bag their trees, if possible. Christmas trees are not considered landscape waste so it will go into the landfill. If the tree is oversized, cut the tree in half.
Environmentally-conscious residents need to make other arrangements to dispose of or recycle their trees. Artificial trees can be donated to thrift shops or set out as bulky waste to be taken to the landfill.
If you have any questions, contact PDC at 309-674-5176, option #1.
